If you don’t already have something to look forward at Louvre, here’s some good news. The Louvre is going to be open at night for free on the first Saturday of every month.

Visiting Hours:
- The Louvre is open every day (except Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Night opening until 9:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Closed on the following holidays: January 1, May 1, May 8, December 25
- Free admission on the first Saturday of each month from 6 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. as of January 2019.
Free Nights to visit The Louvre
These free nights at the museum will start at 6pm and go until 9:45pm. The first free Saturday is on January 5, 2019. This program will replace the current program, which is to offer free entry on the first Sunday of the month during the six months of the slow season (October to March).
On these Saturdays, the Denon and Sully wings of the museum will be fully accessible and free, and the Richelieu wing will be free with a reservation. Head on over on the opening night to enjoy an orchestra, drawing workshops, treasure hunts, and more, to celebrate the beginning of this offer.

Other Free Options to Visit Louvre
For those who aren’t lucky enough to be in France on the first Saturday of the month, this isn’t the only way to get free admission to the Louvre. If you meet any of the following qualifications, you can go in for free (with valid identification):
- Visitors under age 18
- 18-25 year-old residents of the European Economic Area (EU, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein)
- Teachers of art, art history, and the applied arts
- Holders of a valid “Pass Education” card (primary and secondary school teachers in French
- public schools and private schools receiving government subsidies)
- Artists affiliated to the Maison des Artistes (in France) or the AIAP (Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques)
- Holders of a valid ICOM or ICOMOS card
- Job seekers and people on income support, on presentation of proof of entitlement (dated within the last year or indicating a period of validity)
- visitors with disabilities and the person accompanying them
- Holders of membership cards(permanent collections only)
- The other time you can get into the Louvre without paying the cost of the ticket is Bastille Day (July 14).
- If you’re under 26, you can get into the museum for free every Friday from 6pm onward (with presentation of a valid ID).
With free admission, you can skip the ticket sales line and go directly to one of the entrances. Regular ticket prices are 17€ online and 15€ at the museum.
